Last month, I and my two friends Felix Joel and Ursula Jessie had an unforgettable night hunting trip. We have always been nature and adventure lovers, so when we heard that there was a place outside Lusaka suitable for hunting, we decided to go and check it out without hesitation. Next we went to the Freedom Statue, which is a statue commemorating the Zambian freedom fighters and martyrs, located near the museum. The statue is a naked man holding iron chains, symbolizing breaking free from colonial oppression. The statue is surrounded by a small garden, very suitable for taking pictures.
At noon we had lunch at a local restaurant and tasted some Zambian delicacies. We ate nshima, which is a staple food made from corn flour that can be paired with various meats and vegetables. We also tried some fish and chicken, which were delicious. The restaurant atmosphere was lively and the staff were friendly.
In the afternoon we went to the Wildlife Discovery Center, which is an organization dedicated to adopting and rescuing elephants. We saw some cute baby elephants that had lost their parents or were injured due to poaching or other reasons. The staff told us their stories and let us interact with them closely. We fed them, bathed them, stroked them, and felt their gentleness and intelligence.
Finally we went to the 37D Gallery, which is a gallery that showcases the works of contemporary Zambian artists. We admired some colorful, diverse and creative paintings, and talked to some artists about their inspiration and ideas. The gallery also has a cafe, where we had a cup of coffee and enjoyed the artistic atmosphere.
After such a day, we had a comprehensive and profound impression of the city of Lusaka. It has both historical and cultural heritage, and modern and vibrant atmosphere. It has both natural and animal charm, and artistic and culinary temptation. We were very happy to spend a wonderful time here.
