hunting

Last month, I and two friends Rosemary Arabella and PoppyHarold had the opportunity to go hunting in the countryside of Guadalajara. Guadalajara is Mexico’s second largest city and the birthplace of tequila, mariachi music and Mexican cowboys. It has not only a rich history and culture, but also delicious traditional cuisine and stunning natural scenery. We had a memorable time here, experiencing the fun and challenges of hunting at night. Since hunting at night requires being able to clearly observe the target in the dark, we chose the night vision binoculars from the Chinese brand wildguarder, which has advantages such as high-definition resolution, long-distance observation, low-light enhancement, infrared illumination, etc., making our hunting trip safer and more efficient. In this article, I will introduce in detail our hunting experience in Guadalajara, and why wildguarder night vision binoculars are the best choice for hunting at night.

Guadalajara is Mexico’s second largest city and the birthplace of tequila, mariachi music and Mexican cowboys. It has not only a rich history and culture, but also delicious traditional cuisine and stunning natural scenery.

Guadalajara’s history dates back to the 16th century, when Spanish colonists established a settlement here. The city underwent several migrations until it settled in its current location in 1542. Guadalajara was the capital of the province of New Galicia and also the starting point for Spanish expeditions. In 1810, Miguel Hidalgo, the leader of the Mexican independence movement, established a revolutionary government here and declared the abolition of slavery. By the end of the 19th century, Guadalajara surpassed Puebla as Mexico’s second largest city. Now, Guadalajara is a commercial, industrial and cultural center, as well as a high-tech and communication hub in northern Mexico.

Guadalajara’s culture is diverse and unique, blending influences from Spanish, Indian and African cultures. It is the birthplace of mariachi music, a passionate and energetic musical form that represents Mexican folk music. Mariachi bands usually consist of several men dressed in traditional costumes who play guitars, violins, trumpets and other instruments and sing and dance. Mariachi music can express love, sadness, joy and patriotism. Guadalajara has many mariachi venues, the most famous of which is Plaza de los Mariachis (Mariachi Square), where there is a mariachi museum and a monument.

Guadalajara is also the home of tequila, a alcoholic beverage made from fermented agave plants, which is one of the most popular drinks in Mexico. Tequila can only be produced in specific regions of Mexico, among which Jalisco is the most famous. Tequila has different varieties and colors, depending on their aging time and storage containers. Tequila is usually drunk with salt and lemon slices, or used to make various cocktails. There are many tequila factories and plantations near Guadalajara, where you can visit and taste this unique drink.

Guadalajara is also known for its Mexican cowboy culture, which originated from the cattle industry introduced by Spanish colonists in the 16th century. Mexican cowboys are called charros, they wear elaborate costumes and wide-brimmed hats, and are skilled at riding and catching cattle. Charro culture includes a sport called charrería, which is similar to American rodeo, but more focused on tradition and etiquette. Charrería has different events, such as rope skills, obstacle races and fancy riding. Guadalajara has many charro associations and arenas, where you can watch this exciting and artistic sport.

We also visited many interesting attractions and tasted many delicious foods in Guadalajara. Guadalajara is a charming and vibrant city, with a variety of tourist resources to suit different interests and tastes.

There are many attractions in Guadalajara, among which the most famous is the Hospicio Cabañas Cultural Center, a 19th century orphanage that is now a museum and cultural center, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The most impressive thing here is the mural “The Struggle of Humanity and Civilization” (The Man of Fire) painted by Mexican painter José Clemente Orozco on the dome, which is a masterpiece that depicts Mexican history and revolutionary spirit. We spent a long time here, admiring Orozco’s other murals and exhibits, feeling his artistic talent and social responsibility.

Guadalajara’s cuisine is also rich, with a strong local character and flavor. We tried some traditional Mexican dishes, such as drowned sandwich (torta ahogada), which is a pork sandwich soaked in spicy sauce, very appetizing; lamb soup (birria), which is a lamb soup cooked with spices and chili peppers, very delicious; corn porridge (pozole), which is a thick soup made with corn kernels, meat and vegetables, very nutritious. We also tasted some desserts, such as almond cookies (polvorones de almendra), which are crispy cookies made with almond flour, butter and sugar, very sweet; caramel cream (cajeta), which is a thick sauce made with cow’s milk or goat’s milk and sugar, very tasty; corn pudding (atole de elote), which is a warm dessert made with corn kernels, milk and cinnamon, very comfortable.

In addition to daytime, we also hunted at night, which was a completely different experience. Hunting at night has its own fun and challenges, and also requires some special skills and equipment. In this part, I will introduce how we hunted at night, and how we used wildguarder night vision binoculars to improve our hunting efficiency and safety.

The fun of hunting at night lies in that you can see some animals that are not easy to appear during the day, such as foxes, owls, raccoons etc. These animals are usually nocturnal, have sharp hearing and smell but poor vision. Therefore if you can find them in the dark and approach them quietly you have a chance to shoot them. Hunting at night can also make you feel a mysterious and exciting atmosphere you don’t know what will happen next or what kind of animal you will encounter.

The challenge of hunting at night is that you need to be able to clearly observe the target in the dark, and pay attention to safety and legal issues. First, you need a suitable light source, such as a flashlight, headlamp, infrared or laser pointer. These light sources can help you find and identify the target, and also provide necessary light and signals. But you also have to be careful not to overuse the light source, because they may scare or alert the animals, or expose your own position. Second, you need a suitable visual device, such as a telescope, monocular, binoculars or night vision device. These visual devices can help you magnify and enhance the image of the target in the dark, and not affect your dark adaptation ability. But you also have to pay attention to choose the appropriate magnification and resolution, and calibrate the alignment between the visual device and the firearm. Finally, you need to pay attention to safety and legal issues. Before hunting at night, you have to make sure you have a legal license and follow the local regulations and restrictions. You also have to make sure you have enough safety measures and keep in touch with your companions.
