Hunting is an ancient and thrilling sport that allows people to experience close contact with nature and wildlife, as well as to exercise courage and wisdom. Last week, my two friends Norton Rockefeller and Bruno Billy and I decided to go hunting in Meiling National Forest Park in Nanchang, China, to experience the scenic beauty and rich wildlife resources here.

As we planned to hunt at night, a night vision binoculars was an essential piece of equipment. After searching online, we chose the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars from a brand in Shenzhen, China, because it has the following advantages:

With this night vision binoculars, we embarked on our hunting trip in Meiling National Forest Park. Next, I will introduce you to our exciting experiences here and our feelings about the local customs and cuisine.

We chose Meiling National Forest Park as our hunting location, which is a national forest park located in the northwest suburb of Nanchang City, with a mountainous and hilly terrain. The park is about 18 kilometers away from the city center. Meiling, originally called Feihong Mountain, has a long history and culture, where famous physician Li Shizhen collected herbs for alchemy, and also the birthplace of Chinese classical music and Taoist Jingming Sect. Meiling has beautiful scenery, pleasant climate, with an average summer temperature of 22℃-25℃, and is known as the “Little Lushan.” Meiling has abundant vegetation, with over 600 species of plants and more than 2,000 varieties, and has many historical and cultural sites such as the “Hongya Dianjing,” “Eighth Spring in the World,” and “Medicine Lake.”

We drove to Meiling National Forest Park, enjoying the scenery along the way and feeling the charm of nature. We first arrived at the Lion Peak Scenic Area, which is a stone sea cave landscape formed by a huge granite stone pile. The peaks are towering, the stones are all around, and the caves are winding. We climbed to the top of Lion Peak and looked far away. The mountains, villages, fields, and lakes were all visible, and we felt relaxed and happy. We also experienced entertainment projects such as the glass bridge and the glass slide, feeling the excitement and thrill.

Then we went to the Hongya Dianjing Scenic Area, which is the birthplace of Chinese classical music and one of the most representative scenic spots in Meiling. It is said that the well water here can be used for alchemy and can adjust the music. We visited the Hongya Sculpture Plaza, Lian Dan Caolu, Music Tribe, Music Palace, Twelve Rhythm Wall Carvings, and the Eighth Spring in the World, learning about Meiling’s music culture and historical legends.

Finally, we arrived at the Xi Yao Lake Scenic Area, which is on the top of Luohan Peak in Meiling, forming an almost 30-acre glacial lake. This was once the place where famous physician Li Shizhen collected herbs for alchemy, hence the name Xi Yao Lake. There are often sea of clouds and occasional Buddha light here, making it an important summer resort in Nanchang. We enjoyed the beautiful lake and mountain scenery here, feeling the cool and comfortable air.

Through this day’s tour, we gained a deeper understanding of Meiling National Forest Park.

After visiting various scenic spots in Meiling National Forest Park, we began our hunting trip. We found a farmhouse near the scenic area to stay in, prepared some hunting equipment, including firearms, ammunition, knives, food, water, etc. Our most important equipment was the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars, which allowed us to see the target clearly in the dark and improve our hunting success rate.

We set off in the evening, walking along the mountain road towards the deep mountains. We planned to find some small animals such as wild rabbits, pheasants, and wild ducks in the forest. If we were lucky, we might also encounter some large animals such as wild boars and deer. As we walked, we used the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars to observe the surroundings and search for traces of prey.

Soon, the sky gradually darkened, and everything around us became pitch black. Fortunately, with the help of the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars, we could see clearly in complete darkness without being detected by the prey. The Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars have 20x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, allowing us to zoom in or out to see details or the whole picture. It also has excellent optical clarity and a wide dynamic range, capturing fine details and colors. It also has a built-in 2-inch TFT display that can be viewed directly or connected to a large screen via HDMI. It can also take photos and videos and save them to a TF card for easy playback and sharing.

We scanned around with the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars and found a group of wild ducks feeding by the water. We quietly approached them and aimed our guns at one of them. I gently pulled the trigger, and only heard a “bang,” and the wild duck fell to the ground. I happily ran over to pick up the prey, feeling a sense of achievement. My friends also expressed their congratulations and used the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars to capture this moment.

In the next few hours, we caught several more wild rabbits and pheasants, and almost encountered a wild boar, but it ran away when it discovered us. We used the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars to record our hunting process, feeling very exciting and interesting. We were very satisfied with the performance of the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars and felt that it was the best partner for hunting.

When it dawned, we ended our hunting trip and returned to the farmhouse with our full load of prey. After hunting, we prepared a sumptuous dinner at the farmhouse. We handed over the wild ducks, rabbits, pheasants, and other prey we caught to the landlord of the farmhouse and let them process them for us. Then, they cooked delicious dishes with their earthen stove and cooking utensils. We also used the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars to record our dinner process, recording our joyful moments.

Our dinner had many dishes, including roasted wild ducks, stewed wild rabbits, stir-fried pheasants, steamed crucian carp, braised pork, sauteed Chinese celery with bacon, mixed noodles, and clay pot soup, and so on. Every dish was made with fresh ingredients and simple seasonings, retaining the original flavor, with a fragrant aroma and tempting color. We chatted and tasted Nanchang’s local customs and cuisine while eating.

Nanchang is a city with a long history and culture, as well as a city of gastronomy. Nanchang’s cuisine is represented by rice noodles and clay pot soup, and there are many other characteristic snacks, such as white sugar cake, golden thread hanging gourd, hemp date, stir-fried watermelon skin, stir-fried pomelo peel, stir-fried winter melon peel, and pickled radish peel. These snacks are Nanchang people’s memories and emotions, as well as their love and enjoyment of life. Nanchang people like spicy and sweet food, using spiciness to stimulate the taste buds and sweetness to balance their mood. Nanchang people also like spicy dishes such as beer duck, crab leg noodle soup, and water-boiled beef slices. These dishes are made with fresh meat and seafood, with a spicy, refreshing, and slippery taste, making people unable to stop eating.

We had a sumptuous and delicious dinner at the farmhouse, feeling Nanchang’s culinary culture and human touch. We used the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars to play back our hunting videos and shared our happy experiences. We felt that this hunting trip was well worth it, not only exercising our bodies, but also enhancing our friendship, and experiencing the local customs and cuisine.
