This March, we decided to go hunting at the Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area in Fuzhou, China. This is a place we have never been to before, but it is a charming and challenging place. The Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area is located in Xiyang Village, Gelin Town, Yongtai County, Fujian Province. It covers an area of 6 square kilometers and has a highest altitude of 828 meters. It is named after a huge rock standing in the mountain that looks like a gate. This is a comprehensive tourism scenic area that combines canyon sightseeing, leisure vacation, and ecological agriculture. It has rich natural resources and cultural landscapes, including strange peaks, waterfalls, underground rivers, ancient trees, rare animals and plants, and cultural heritages with high appreciation and archaeological value such as ancient water conservancy sites, Tianmen Temple sites, millennium gardens, ancient dyeing kilns, and Red Army caves.
We chose to hunt at night because it can better experience the thrills and fun in the darkness and discover some rarely seen nocturnal animals. We chose this place as our hunting destination mainly because it has rich and diverse wildlife resources such as wild boars, pheasants, wild ducks, hares, and deer, as well as some rare national first- or second-level protected animals such as pangolins, gazelles, and short-tailed monkeys. These animals are not only our hunting targets but also our objects of appreciation and learning. We hope to learn more about the habits and characteristics of these animals during the hunting process, increasing our knowledge and awe of nature.

Our hunting team cooperation mainly relies on communication and cooperation through walkie-talkies, dividing labor and cooperation according to different situations, such as searching separately, attacking together, and covering each other.
Our hunting harvest and feelings are very rich and profound. We caught four wild boars and six pheasants, which is a good result for us and also a recognition of our efforts and skills. We brought the hunted animals back to our accommodation and cooked a hearty wild game dinner using local methods, which was one of the most delicious foods we had ever eaten and also a reward and celebration for ourselves. While eating, we also reviewed the hunting process and experience, shared our insights and feelings, praised and encouraged each other, and also pointed out shortcomings and improvements.
Our hunting feelings mainly have three aspects: first is satisfaction, we feel that we have completed a challenging and meaningful task, achieved our goals and wishes, and also demonstrated our abilities and levels; second is excitement, we feel that we have a fierce and tense confrontation with wildlife in the darkness, experiencing the thrill of life and death and speed and passion; third is a sense of achievement, we feel that we not only obtained game and food but also knowledge and experience, and also strengthened our friendship and trust.
