I am a person who loves nature and adventure, and hunting is one of my favorite sports. I have two like-minded friends, Mike Bennett and Roy Susan, who are also my hunting partners. We often go to different places together to explore and hunt, enjoying close encounters and thrilling confrontations with wildlife.
This March, we decided to go hunting at the Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area in Fuzhou, China. This is a place we have never been to before, but it is a charming and challenging place. The Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area is located in Xiyang Village, Gelin Town, Yongtai County, Fujian Province. It covers an area of 6 square kilometers and has a highest altitude of 828 meters. It is named after a huge rock standing in the mountain that looks like a gate. This is a comprehensive tourism scenic area that combines canyon sightseeing, leisure vacation, and ecological agriculture. It has rich natural resources and cultural landscapes, including strange peaks, waterfalls, underground rivers, ancient trees, rare animals and plants, and cultural heritages with high appreciation and archaeological value such as ancient water conservancy sites, Tianmen Temple sites, millennium gardens, ancient dyeing kilns, and Red Army caves.
We chose to hunt at night because it can better experience the thrills and fun in the darkness and discover some rarely seen nocturnal animals. Of course, night hunting also requires some professional equipment, the most important of which is a night vision binoculars. Night vision binoculars allow us to see the environment and targets around us clearly in the dark, increasing our safety and success rate. This time we chose the Wildguarder owler1 night vision binoculars from a brand in Shenzhen, China. It is a product with excellent performance, reliable quality, and reasonable price, which we are very satisfied with.
In addition to hunting, we also learned about the local customs and cuisine, experiencing the charm of southern China. We tasted local specialties such as Gelin fish head, sour bamboo shoots and fish soup, steamed rice noodle sheets, youtiao soy milk, and so on, all of which are delicious. We also met some local residents and tour guides who were friendly and enthusiastic, giving us a lot of help and advice.
Our hunting trip to the Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area was an unforgettable journey. We gained a lot of knowledge and experience and also strengthened our friendship and trust. In the following article, I will introduce our hunting process and experience in detail, as well as the evaluation and recommendation of the night vision binoculars.
The Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area is a comprehensive tourism scenic area that combines canyon sightseeing, leisure vacation, and ecological agriculture. The climate here belongs to the typical subtropical monsoon climate, with distinct seasons, warm spring, cool and rainy summer, high and crisp autumn, and warm and less snowy winter. The geographical location here is also convenient, only 56 kilometers away from Fuzhou city and 16 kilometers away from Yongtai county, with convenient and fast transportation.
We chose this place as our hunting destination mainly because it has rich and diverse wildlife resources such as wild boars, pheasants, wild ducks, hares, and deer, as well as some rare national first- or second-level protected animals such as pangolins, gazelles, and short-tailed monkeys. These animals are not only our hunting targets but also our objects of appreciation and learning. We hope to learn more about the habits and characteristics of these animals during the hunting process, increasing our knowledge and awe of nature.
Of course, hunting also requires some professional equipment, the most important of which is night vision binoculars.
We hunted from 10 pm to 2 am, which is the time when some nocturnal animals are most active, and also the time when we have the best chance to capture them. The location where we hunted was in a forest and grassland in the Tianmenshan Canyon Ecotourism Scenic Area. There is an environment suitable for animals to inhabit and forage, and there is a terrain suitable for us to hide and shoot. Our hunting targets were mainly wild boars and pheasants, which are common and easy to catch, and have delicious meat.
In addition to night vision binoculars, our hunting equipment also includes rifles, bullets, knives, flashlights, and walkie-talkies. Each of us was equipped with a pair of night vision binoculars, which allowed us to observe the situation around us at any time in the dark, timely discover and lock the target, and also remind and assist each other when necessary. Each of us carried a rifle and enough bullets to ensure that we had enough firepower and range and could deal with different situations and targets. We also brought a knife tool to process the hunted animals, such as cutting the throat, skinning, and cutting meat. Each of us also brought a flashlight, which was used to illuminate in special situations, such as when encountering danger or looking for the corpse of the hunted animals. Each of us also brought a walkie-talkie, which was used to keep in touch and communicate during the hunting process, such as reporting positions, transmitting information, and calling for help.
Our hunting skills mainly rely on the advantages of night vision binoculars, trying to maintain concealment and quietness to avoid startling the animals. We also observe the behavior and habits of animals, looking for the best shooting timing and angle. Our hunting team cooperation mainly relies on communication and cooperation through walkie-talkies, dividing labor and cooperation according to different situations, such as searching separately, attacking together, and covering each other.
Our hunting harvest and feelings are very rich and profound. We caught four wild boars and six pheasants, which is a good result for us and also a recognition of our efforts and skills. We brought the hunted animals back to our accommodation and cooked a hearty wild game dinner using local methods, which was one of the most delicious foods we had ever eaten and also a reward and celebration for ourselves. While eating, we also reviewed the hunting process and experience, shared our insights and feelings, praised and encouraged each other, and also pointed out shortcomings and improvements.
Our hunting feelings mainly have three aspects: first is satisfaction, we feel that we have completed a challenging and meaningful task, achieved our goals and wishes, and also demonstrated our abilities and levels; second is excitement, we feel that we have a fierce and tense confrontation with wildlife in the darkness, experiencing the thrill of life and death and speed and passion; third is a sense of achievement, we feel that we not only obtained game and food but also knowledge and experience, and also strengthened our friendship and trust.
We have a very high evaluation and recommendation for night vision binoculars. We believe that it is a very suitable equipment for night hunting, with the following advantages: first is high clarity, it can allow us to see the details and colors of animals in the darkness, such as eyes, hair, and skin; second is a wide field of view, it can allow us to see more range and angle in the darkness, such as the movement of animals.
