I am a photographer from the United States, and I am very interested in the natural scenery and cultural history of China. Yesterday, my two friends, Morgan Thoreau and Virgil Raleign, and I went hunting at Yinquan Mountain in Yichang, Hubei, China. Morgan Thoreau is a musician who has used Henry David Thoreau’s diary as inspiration for his music. Virgil Raleign is a social media influencer with many fans on Facebook. We all enjoy exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. We chose Yinquan Mountain as our hunting destination because we heard that it has a long history, beautiful scenery, and many wild animals. Since we were hunting at night, night vision binoculars were necessary, and we chose the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars from the Chinese brand in Shenzhen because we heard that this product has excellent performance and a reasonable price.

During this hunting trip, we not only enjoyed the natural beauty of Yinquan Mountain, but also learned about the local customs and cuisine. We traveled from Beijing by train for about ten hours and arrived in Yichang, Hubei. Yichang is a city with a long history and beautiful scenery, located at the western end of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and the location of the Three Gorges Dam. We stayed in Yichang city for one night and then took a car to Yinquan Mountain early in the morning of the second day. Yinquan Mountain is a comprehensive scenic area based on forest landscape, Buddhist cultural relics, and Three Kingdoms relics, integrating other natural and cultural landscapes. It is now a provincial scenic spot, a national forest park, and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The central scenic area covers an area of 8.9 square kilometers and can be developed on an area of 69 square kilometers.

When we arrived at Yinquan Mountain, we first visited some famous scenic spots in the area, such as the Jin Wushu stone statue group, ancient wells, and sacred springs, to learn about the development history and characteristics of the Jin Yuan culture. Then, we registered for a hunting permit at the Octagonal Tower and rented hunting equipment and guide services. We chose Yinquan International Hunting Ground as our hunting site. This is the largest enclosed hunting ground in Asia and also the earliest place in China to develop tourist skiing. It is located at the western foot of the Zhangguangcai Mountains, a branch of the Changbai Mountains, and the Xiaoxing’an Mountains extend from the northeast and meet the Changbai Mountains here, forming a unique natural and ecological environment.

Under the guidance of our guide, we entered the hunting ground. There are 17 peaks surrounding the hunting ground, and the highest peak, Heishi Peak, has an elevation of 547 meters. The forest coverage rate in the area is 80%, with more than 60 kinds of trees, more than 40 kinds of birds, and thousands of elk and sika deer. We walked along the mountain path, sometimes passing through lush forests, sometimes crossing clear streams, and sometimes climbing steep cliffs. We used the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars to observe the surroundings and search for the traces of prey. This night vision binoculars impressed us greatly because of its high definition, high magnification, high brightness, high contrast, and other features, which allowed us to observe distant targets clearly in the dark and even take photos and videos. It also has infrared assistance function, which can enhance night vision without disturbing animals. It also has waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, and other functions, adapting to various harsh environments.

We hunted in the hunting ground for about two hours, during which we found many prey, such as rabbits, mountain chickens, yellow goats, and roe deer, but we did not shoot easily because our goal was larger and more precious elk and sika deer. These two animals are both second-class protected animals in China, very rare and difficult to catch. We searched for their traces while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Yinquan Mountain and feeling the magic and charm of nature. We took many beautiful photos and videos with the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars, recording our hunting trip.

Just when we were about to give up, we finally found the figure of a sika deer on a grassland. It was grazing with its head down and did not notice our presence. We immediately hid behind a big tree and quietly adjusted the gun and posture, preparing to shoot. We used the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars to aim at the heart of the sika deer and gently pulled the trigger. With a loud bang, the sika deer fell to the ground without struggling. We ran excitedly to confirm that the sika deer was dead. We dragged it to the side and cut off its head and fur as our trophy. We took a group photo with the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars, celebrating our success.

This hunting trip deeply impressed us with the superiority and practicality of the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars. It not only allowed us to observe distant targets clearly in the dark and even take photos and videos, but also had infrared assistance function, which can enhance night vision without disturbing animals. It also has waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, and other functions, adapting to various harsh environments. It is lightweight, durable, easy to operate, and has long battery life, making it easy for us to carry and use. It is the best choice for hunting enthusiasts and a necessary tool for travel photographers.

We spent a day hunting in Yinquan Mountain, harvested the head and fur of a sika deer, and countless beautiful memories. We left the hunting ground satisfied and returned to Yichang city. We decided to stay in Yichang for another day to experience the local customs and cuisine. Yichang is a cultural city with a history of three thousand years and the location of the Three Gorges Dam. It has rich cultural landscapes and natural resources. Yichang’s cuisine is also very distinctive, mainly based on fish, with a spicy and aromatic flavor that makes people drool.

We first went to one of Yichang’s most famous attractions – the Three Gorges Dam. The Three Gorges Dam is the world’s largest hydroelectric dam and a great achievement of the Chinese people. We took a sightseeing car and visited various parts of the dam, such as the ship lock, power plant, and spillway, under the guidance of a guide, feeling the grandeur and ingenuity of the dam. We also climbed to the 185 platform, overlooking the scenery on both sides of the Yangtze River and Gezhouba, feeling the harmony and unity between water and mountains and humans and nature.

After returning from the Three Gorges Dam to the city, we went in search of Yichang’s cuisine. Based on online recommendations, we chose several restaurants with good reputations and tasted Yichang’s specialty dishes. We first went to Zi Ji Ren·Zhu Shou De Ya Zi Fei, a Hubei restaurant, and ate dishes such as Yichang fat fish, spicy and fragrant Diuzi Fish heart, fried small potatoes, spicy and fragrant fat intestine pot, and other dishes. These dishes are mainly made of fish, with various peppers, peppercorns, ginger, garlic and other seasonings, and the taste is fresh, spicy, and aromatic, making people crave more. The most impressive one is Yichang fat fish, a freshwater fish unique to the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, with tender and juicy meat, few thorns, and a creamy white and rich soup that allows you to taste the rich and delicious fish and soup with just one sip.

We spent two happy days in Yichang, feeling the charm and style of this city. We not only experienced the fun and excitement of hunting in Yinquan Mountain, but also took many beautiful photos and videos with the Wildguarder Owler1 night vision binoculars, recording our hunting trip. We also felt the greatness of human wisdom and courage at the Three Gorges Dam, tasted Yichang’s special cuisine, and satisfied our taste buds. This trip gave us a lot, not only broadening our horizons but also strengthening our friendship. We hope to have the opportunity to travel again soon.
