Last month, my two friends Jerome Law and Jeremy Malachi and I went hunting on Kunming Chessboard Mountain in China. We chose the Wildguarder brand’s Owlery 1 night vision binoculars from Shenzhen, China. It is a professional night vision binoculars that can observe animal movements clearly in the dark. We wanted to test the performance of this product through this hunting trip and learn about the local culture and cuisine.

Chessboard Mountain National Forest Park is located in the Huahongdong area of Xishan District, Kunming City, 20 kilometers west of Sanjia Village, with an altitude of 2483 meters. It has rich natural resources and biodiversity, making it an ideal hunting ground. We booked a local hunting guide online, who took us deep into the forest to search for animal tracks such as wild boar, pheasant, and rabbit.

We did some preparation work during the day, such as checking equipment like guns, ammunition, binoculars, and setting up traps and baits. We also set up a tent in a secluded area as our temporary campsite. We planned to start our official hunting operation at night and use the night vision binoculars to observe animal activities.

After nightfall, we split into two groups: Jerome Law and I went in one direction, while Jeremy Malachi and the guide went in another. We all brought our Owler1 night vision binoculars, which have high-quality image and powerful zoom functions, allowing us to see farther and clearer in the dark. They also have a built-in infrared illuminator, which provides auxiliary lighting in complete darkness. They also have a recording function, allowing us to save what we see.

Jerome Law and I walked along a trail for about half an hour before we found a group of wild boars foraging in a grassy area. We immediately hid behind a large tree and used our binoculars to observe their position and number. We found there were about a dozen wild boars, some of which were very large and fat. We decided to target the largest one first, then sweep the rest.

We adjusted our guns and binoculars, waiting for the best moment. When the big boar walked into an open area, we simultaneously pulled the trigger. We heard two gunshots and a scream, then saw the big boar fall to the ground. We quickly ran to the grassy area, confirmed that the big boar was dead, and dragged it away. We used our binoculars to check the other wild boars and found that they had fled in panic. We didn’t pursue them because we thought one big boar was enough. We used our phones to contact Jeremy Malachi and the guide, telling them our location and situation.

They arrived at our location quickly and were happy to see our spoils. They told us they had also seen some wild chickens and rabbits, but had not been able to catch any. They said they also liked the Owler1 night vision binoculars, finding them very clear and convenient. We showed them the telescope’s recording function, allowing them to see our hunting process. They were all amazed and said the telescope was truly magical.

We put the large wild boar on the car and returned to camp. We used a knife to skin and chop the wild boar into pieces, preparing to bring it back the next day. We used the wild boar’s innards and some spices to make a pot of soup, which we cooked over the bonfire. We sat around the bonfire, drinking soup and chatting. The guide told us some stories and legends about Chessboard Mountain, saying it was a magical place with a thousand-year history. He said there used to be a Chessboard Temple here, dedicated to the Chessboard Ancestor, a combination of Taoism and Buddhism. He said the Chessboard Ancestor was a celestial being who could control the wind, rain, and disasters. He once played a game of celestial chess here, leaving behind a Chessboard Stone. He said the scenery here was very beautiful, with many rare plants and animals. He also recommended some local delicacies and specialties, such as Crossing the Bridge Noodles, Fresh Flower Cake, and Yunnan Ham.

We listened with great interest and also shared some stories and customs from our different countries. We found that although our cultures and languages are different, we all have common hobbies and interests. We all like nature and adventure, and enjoy exploring and discovering new things. We all feel that this hunting trip was an unforgettable experience that helped us gain knowledge and friendship.

The next morning, we packed up our luggage and equipment and prepared to leave Qipan Mountain. The guide took us to a local market where we bought some local specialties and souvenirs. We also had a taste of Yunnan’s flavor by eating a bowl of Guoqiao rice noodles in a small restaurant. Then, we said goodbye to the guide and drove back to Kunming city.

Overall, this hunting trip left a deep impression on me. I think this Owlery1 night vision binoculars is an excellent product that allowed me to see many things in the dark that I wouldn’t normally be able to see, and also helped me enjoy the hunting experience better. I think this is a product worth recommending to all hunting and outdoor enthusiasts. I also really like Kunming and Qipan Mountain in China, which have beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural heritage, allowing me to broaden my horizons and make some good friends. I hope to have the opportunity to come back here again in the future and continue to explore and discover more wonderful things.
