In October of this year, my three friends Francis Strachey, Charles Soph, and Ian Bill and I went hunting in Dasi Forest Park, Nanyang, Henan, China. We are a group of adventure and exploration enthusiasts who wanted to find some excitement and fun on this mysterious land. Dasi Forest Park is a national 2A-level scenic area located in Dacheng Mountain of Tongbai Mountain range, Fangcheng County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, 15 kilometers southeast of Fangcheng County. The forest coverage rate in the park is 95%, with a variety of lush and verdant trees. The forest types mainly include evergreen coniferous forests, deciduous broad-leaved forests, mixed forests of evergreen coniferous and deciduous broad-leaved, and various colorful shrub forests. There are also many natural and cultural landscapes in the park, such as strange peaks and stones, cliffs, streams, waterfalls, and ancient temples, which are breathtaking.
We rented an off-road vehicle locally and drove to the park along the provincial road Lu Yau Road. Along the way, we saw many rural landscapes and village homes, and felt the simplicity and friendliness of the locals. We also tasted some local specialties at roadside stalls, such as spicy soup and braised noodles, which were delicious and nutritious.
After arriving at the park, we first bought tickets at the scenic area ticket office for 60 yuan per person. Then we entered the park and began our adventure. We first came to Pu Yan Temple, which is a Buddhist holy site built in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of 1100 years. There are many stone inscriptions and Buddha statues left by literati and poets from various dynasties in the temple, and the atmosphere is solemn. We paid our respects in the temple and felt the profoundness of Buddhist culture.
Then we climbed up along the mountain path, enjoying the scenery along the way. We saw the Three Dragon Ponds (Black Dragon Pond, White Dragon Pond, and Green Dragon Pond), which are of various shapes, curved, undulating, and resemble a swimming dragon. We also heard the roaring sound of the flowing Yunfei waterfall, which is tall, spectacular, and has a drop of more than 40 meters, and smelled the fragrance of various plants such as pine forest and red leaves. We also encountered some wildlife, such as egrets, cormorants, huamei birds, and owls, playing and making various sounds in the forest, adding a lot of fun for us.
We finally reached the highest peak of the park, Shuangshan, with an altitude of 711.2 meters. The mountains here are magnificent and strange, with cliffs and precipices towering into the clouds. We climbed to the top and looked around, only to see mountains surrounding us and clouds shrouding us, as if we had entered a fairyland. We also saw other peaks such as Bailong Mountain, Niangniang Mountain, Huajian Mountain, and Dazhu Mountain, as well as unique landscapes such as the Jieyi Stone and Jinbei Moon, which were breathtaking.
By now it was getting late, so we decided to camp on the mountaintop for the night. We set up our tents on a flat spot and made a campfire. We took some food and drinks from the car and enjoyed a hearty dinner around the fire. We also took out our owler1 night vision binoculars and prepared to start our night hunting journey.

We are all curious and admiring of this magical country of China and hope to have the opportunity to explore more places.
