My colleague and I are both avid hunters, so we decided to go hunting in Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest this fall, to enjoy the charm and challenge of nature. Our goal is not only to harvest game, but also to experience the process and fun of hunting. We took a cruise boat through the canyon, admiring the cliffs and caves on both sides, hearing the water and birdsong, and feeling the magic and power of nature.
In terms of food, we also tried some local specialties and drinks. We went to a restaurant called The Montana Club, and tasted their steak and burger, which were made with fresh local beef, very delicious and juicy. We also drank some local beer, such as Big Sky Brewing Company’s Moose Drool Brown Ale and Lewis and Clark Brewing Company’s Prickly Pear Pale Ale, which were unique and tasty craft beers. We also went to a candy store called The Parrot Confectionery, and enjoyed their chocolate and ice cream, which were made with traditional recipes and by hand, very sweet and smooth.
This hunting trip gave me a lot of gains. I not only saw beautiful natural scenery and wildlife, but also experienced different lifestyles and customs. I also enhanced my friendship and cooperation with my colleagues, sharing happiness and challenges together.
