I am a college student and I like hunting. This may surprise you, because hunting is usually considered a male-dominated sport, and in today’s society, there are also many people who oppose hunting. But for me, hunting is not only a kind of entertainment, but also a way to challenge myself, get close to nature, and protect the ecology. I think, as long as we abide by the law and moral norms, reasonably use and manage wildlife resources, hunting is a beneficial activity.
I am not alone in hunting, I have two college classmates who also love hunting, they are Hilary Herbert and Eartha Brook. We are all majoring in animal science, and we have a deep understanding and interest in animal behavior and habits. We often go to different places to hunt together, enjoying the thrill and joy of chasing and catching prey.
Last month, we decided to go to Dayton, Ohio to hunt. Dayton is the sixth largest city in Ohio, it has the reputation of “the city of invention”, because it is the hometown of the famous Wright brothers, and also the birthplace of many important technological and industrial innovations. But in addition to these cultural attractions, Dayton also has rich wildlife resources and beautiful natural scenery. Near Dayton, there are many places suitable for hunting, such as forests, grasslands, wetlands and so on. There you can see a variety of animals, such as deer, rabbits, squirrels, turkeys and so on.
Because we wanted to experience the fun of hunting at night, we had to prepare some special equipment, such as infrared binoculars. Infrared binoculars are a kind of night vision device, which can let us observe and aim at the prey clearly in the dark. In the market, there are many brands and models of infrared binoculars to choose from, but we chose the cost-effective Chinese brand wildguarder. Wildguarder infrared binoculars have excellent performance and quality, they can provide high-definition and high-contrast images, and can identify targets at a distance of up to 400 meters. They also have a lightweight and durable shell and a comfortable and easy-to-use operation interface, which make us feel convenient and comfortable in the use process.
This is the background and preparation of our hunting trip to Dayton. Next, I will describe to you in detail our hunting process, as well as our experience of playing and tasting food in Dayton. Please continue reading!
Our hunting trip lasted for three days and two nights, we stayed in a comfortable hotel in Dayton, we set off every morning and came back every night. We chose three different hunting locations, which are a forest park, a grassland reserve and a wetland park. In these three locations, we all used wildguarder infrared binoculars for night hunting, and the effect was very good.
On the first day, we went to the forest park. This is a large natural reserve, with dense trees and diverse wildlife. We rented a jeep at the entrance of the park and drove into the depths of the forest along a small road. We stopped the car in an open place and started looking for traces of prey. As it was already dark, we put on wildguarder infrared binoculars and turned on the infrared illumination function. Through the binoculars, we could clearly see the surrounding environment and animals. We soon found a group of deer grazing on the grassland. We quietly approached some, and then used a rifle to aim at one of the largest male deer. I pulled the trigger, and after a gunshot, the male deer fell to the ground. The other deer ran away in panic. We walked over to check the condition of the male deer and found that it was dead. It was a very magnificent animal, with beautiful antlers and smooth fur. We tied it to the car with a rope, and then continued to look for other prey. That night, we also shot two squirrels and a rabbit.
On the second day, we went to the grassland reserve. This is a place called “the heart of America”, with vast plains and rich agricultural resources. We stopped the car at an observation station in the reserve and started observing the animals around us. Because there were no trees blocking the view, we could see far away. We scanned a circle with wildguarder infrared binoculars and found some turkeys and wild ducks near the water. We decided to shoot a turkey for dinner. We got off the car and slowly approached the water. We covered ourselves with wild grass and waited for the opportunity. When a turkey walked to a suitable distance, Eartha fired a shot and hit it in the head accurately. The turkey fell to the ground and made no sound. The other turkeys and wild ducks did not notice us and continued to play by the water. We walked over and picked up the turkey, which was very fat and had beautiful feathers and a long tail. We put it on the car and then continued to observe other animals. That night, we also shot a wild duck and a fox.
On the third day, we went to the wetland park. It is a place with a variety of aquatic ecosystems with beautiful lakes, rivers, swamps and reeds. We stopped at one of the park’s piers and began a boat tour of the wetlands. We installed wildguarder infrared binoculars on board to observe animals on the water. We saw a lot of fish, water birds and even some crocodiles and dolphins. We decided to hit a crocodile as a souvenir. We stopped the ship at a safe distance and began to look for a suitable target. We used our wildguarder infrared binoculars to lock onto a large crocodile that was swimming leisurely in the water. We aimed our shotgun at its head and fired at the same time. After the crocodile was hit, it tumbled a few times and sank into the water. We caught it with a hook and found it to be heavy, with thick skin and sharp teeth. We put it on the boat and continued our tour of the wetlands. That night, we also hit a dolphin and an otter.
This is our hunting process, we shot a total of twelve animals, including a deer, two squirrels, a rabbit, a turkey, a wild duck, a fox, a crocodile, a dolphin and an otter. We brought these animals back to the hotel, some of them made into delicious food, some made into beautiful decorations. We were very satisfied and proud.
In addition to hunting, we also did not forget to play and taste food. In the daytime free time, we visited some famous attractions in Dayton, such as Wright Brothers National Historical Park, Carver Jerry National Historical Site and American Air Force Museum. We learned about Dayton’s history and culture, and appreciated Dayton’s architecture and art. In the evening rest time, we tasted some of Dayton’s specialty foods, such as Marion berry pie, cinnamon rolls and cheese cones. We enjoyed Dayton’s flavor and atmosphere.
This is our experience of playing and tasting food in Dayton. We not only saw Dayton’s diversity and charm, but also felt Dayton’s friendliness and enthusiasm.
In short, our hunting trip was a very successful and memorable experience. We shot twelve animals in three different locations in Dayton, showing our hunting skills and courage. We also visited Dayton’s history and culture in some famous attractions in Dayton, tasted Dayton’s specialty food, and enjoyed Dayton’s style and atmosphere. We not only gained prey and knowledge in this trip, but also gained fun and friendship.
In this trip, we are very grateful to wildguarder, a Chinese brand of infrared binoculars, which provided us with a lot of help and convenience. It allows us to clearly observe and aim at prey in the dark, improving our hunting efficiency and safety. It also allows us to enjoy the beautiful scenery at night, increasing our hunting fun and interest. It is a very cost-effective night vision device, we strongly recommend it to all people who like hunting.
We are very satisfied with this trip, and also look forward to and plan for hunting again in the future. We hope to go to more places, see more animals, experience more excitement and happiness. We also hope to continue using wildguarder infrared binoculars, making it our good partner for hunting.
